We have made it back safe and sound from our India adventure (without any of us getting sick!) Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing the trip was. First of all, the arrangements you made went perfectly. We were picked up and dropped off at every city without any glitches. The people were always so kind and friendly and the rides were always comfortable. I cannot believe how well we were treated. Nicola, the trip was amazing thanks to you and all of your contacts in India. My husband was so impressed by how smoothly everything ran, and by how we were never left at any stop. My eldest, Olivia, said this was one of her favorite trips. Please keep in touch and we would love to receive an occasional brochure from your agency re other trips you do. We would not hesitate in asking you to help us plan our next adventure.
The Imperial was amazing; the staff, the location, the breakfast buffet!!!! Mirar was actually our favorite. I thought the jungle would be and I know I was weary at first about making the trek out there, but I am so thrilled you convinced me to. The staff, the food, the place itself was PERFECT. We had our own plunge pool and the stars were amazing. We took a camel ride into a village, visited a school and sat in on an opium ceremony about 20 elder men were having to honor the passing of a 105 year old woman.
The manager at Mirar was the best. The private plane was a spectacular touch as we have never done anything like that before. The kids were in heaven.
Oberoi was grand, but after staying at a more personal place like Mirar, you were absolutely correct in recommending only one night in Agra. The Taj brought tears to my eyes and our guide was excellent. He took us to the orphanage where the kids played with the babies for quite some time and one of the sisters took us for a tour therere.
The train ride was an adventure and was fine. It was cool and comfortable and once again, your people sent us off with a bag of everything we needed.
We were met at our stop by the guy from our jungle camp. The tents were beautiful and once again the entire staff were so warm and kind. The owner, Shree, really went out of her way to make sure the kids were entertained. She took them on a walk, made crafts with them, helped the girls even make some beautiful little doll furniture with the help of her craftsman. She let Matt help prepare the meals and let Maya make dessert. Tiger trekking was exhausting, but fun. Unlike Africa where you are surrounded by animlas, the tigers were elusive. We saw one tiger from quite some distance for a brief moment before she went and hid in the shade. I was ok with this being my tiger spotting experience because all of the other experiences made up for it. The kids got to play with elephants at the sanctuary. The morning we were leaving for the airport, 3:30 am, we spotted our tiger! She was walking right in the mid of the road and we drove behind her for some time and got some great shots. What a surprise that was.
Once again, in Dehli we were met at our plane and spent a great day at the Imperial. We were offered sight seeing but opted to relax at the pool, use the gym, etc.
